Inner Mongolia Medical University is located in Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is a multidisciplinary higher medical institution with a focus on medicine, integrating science, management, engineering, literature, and law. Founded in 1956, the university is one of the earliest higher medical institutions established in ethnic regions of New China. At that time, it was under the Ministry of Health, and in 1958 it was placed under the administration of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
